Mission Image

Welcome back to the gritty, ink-stained streets, detective. After our last adventure in the Tinsel Bros. studio, things are about to get even wilder. We’re heading to a new set, this time with a distinct Western flavor. The scent of gunpowder and betrayal hangs heavy in the air, and it’s our job to follow the trail. In Chapter 15, “The Bookkeeper,” we’re diving back into the movie-making madness to track down a crucial lead. Get your six-shooter ready; it’s time for a showdown.

Main Objectives

Your main goals in this dusty backlot are to track down a person of interest and a key piece of evidence that could blow this case wide open.

  • Locate the bookkeeper and break out of the backstage area.
  • Give chase after talking to the bookkeeper.
  • Sift through the bookkeeper’s scattered belongings.
  • Find the bookkeeper’s ledger.
  • Follow the railway to the next area.
  • Confront Vivian.
  • Pin the Western Backlot clues to your board.

Walkthrough

You’ll start this mission trapped backstage on a Western movie set. The place is crawling with goons, so be ready for a fight from the get-go. Your first task is to find a way out of the initial area and locate the bookkeeper. Keep your Boomstick handy for any close-quarters surprises.

Once you find the bookkeeper, a conversation will trigger a chase sequence. This chase will take you through the sprawling Western backlot, complete with saloons, stables, and dusty streets. The bookkeeper is quick, so use your dash ability to keep up and watch out for ambushes from Tinsel Bros. security along the path. They’ll be throwing everything they have at you.

After the chase concludes, you’ll find the bookkeeper’s belongings scattered about. This is your chance to play detective. You need to search the area carefully to locate the bookkeeper’s ledger. It’s the key to unraveling this conspiracy, so leave no stone unturned. Check inside crates, behind props, and in the corners of the set buildings.

With the ledger in hand, your next objective is to follow the railway tracks. This path will lead you out of the main backlot and toward your final confrontation for this chapter. Expect more resistance along the tracks; the enemy knows you have the evidence and will be desperate to stop you.

The railway leads to a dramatic confrontation with Vivian. We knew she was involved, and now it’s time to face her. This encounter will test your combat skills, so make sure your favorite weapons are upgraded and you’re stocked up on ammo and health. Use the environment for cover and keep moving to avoid her attacks.

After dealing with Vivian, all that’s left is to head back to your office, pin the new clues from the Western Backlot to your investigation board, and piece together the next step in this case.

Collectibles and Side Jobs

While specific collectible locations for this chapter are still being cataloged, the Western Backlot is a prime spot for hidden goodies. As a rule of thumb in a Tinsel Bros. production, always look behind the curtain.

  • Schematics: Check inside the prop houses and backstage areas. Tinsel Bros. loves to hide their tech where you least expect it. Look for breakable walls or hidden crawl spaces.
  • Comics & Newspapers: These are often left on tables in the saloon or on benches along the main street. Keep an eye out for any readable materials as you clear the area of enemies.
  • Baseball Cards & Figurines: Search the rooftops and high-up areas. The verticality of the set can easily hide these smaller collectibles. Use your jump and dash abilities to explore every nook and cranny.

There are no specific side jobs listed for this mission, but keep your ears open for any distressed citizens or characters who might offer an unofficial task.

Boss Fights and Tough Encounters

The main tough encounter in “The Bookkeeper” is the confrontation with Vivian. While not a traditional boss fight with a massive health bar, it’s a challenging battle against a skilled opponent.

Tips for confronting Vivian:

  1. Stay Mobile: Vivian is fast and uses a variety of attacks. Standing still is a surefire way to get filled with lead. Keep dashing and jumping to make yourself a harder target.
  2. Use Cover: The arena where you face her will have plenty of props and set pieces. Use them to block incoming fire and to reload safely.
  3. Weapon Choice: A combination of a long-range weapon like the Tommy Gun and a close-range powerhouse like the Boomstick works well. Use the Tommy Gun to pressure her from a distance and switch to the Boomstick when she gets close.
  4. Watch for Reinforcements: Vivian won’t fight fair. Expect her to call in waves of regular goons to distract you. Prioritize taking them out quickly so you can refocus on the main threat.

Stay sharp, detective. The truth is just around the corner, but you’ll have to fight for it.
