Welcome back to the grimy, rain-slicked streets of the city, fellow gumshoes. It’s time to dive back into the flickering world of Tinsel Bros. studios, but this time, the genre has shifted from swashbuckling adventure to pure, unadulterated horror. In Chapter 16, “Fatal Repulsion,” you’ll find yourself on the set of a horror picture, and it seems the scares are a little too real. The line between movie magic and mortal danger has blurred, and it’s up to you to navigate the haunted set, uncover the truth, and make it out in one piece.
Main Objectives
Your primary goal is to survive the horrors of the Tinsel Bros. backlot and figure out what’s really going on behind the camera. Based on our investigation, your main objectives are:
- Investigate the horror movie set.
- Navigate the deadly traps and special effects.
- Confront the unhinged director.
- Find a way to escape the studio backlot.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
This mission is the third and final act in our Tinsel Bros. trilogy, and they’ve saved the spookiest for last. As soon as you step onto the set, you’ll notice the atmosphere is thick with dread. The lighting is low, strange noises echo from the shadows, and everything feels designed to put you on edge. Keep your wits about you and your favorite weapon handy.
Your first task is to simply push forward and investigate. The path is linear at first, guiding you through a series of classic horror movie locales: a creepy mansion facade, a foggy graveyard, and a claustrophobic laboratory. Expect enemies to pop out from unexpected places. The studio’s robotic goons are dressed in monster costumes now, but they’re just as dangerous. Keep your Boomstick ready for close encounters and use your Tommy Gun to handle crowds.
You’ll soon discover that the set is rigged with “special effects” that are very much lethal. Watch out for trap doors, falling props, and sudden bursts of pyrotechnics. The key is to observe your surroundings before proceeding. Often, you can trigger these traps from a safe distance by shooting a conspicuous button or lever.
About halfway through, you’ll be “cast” as the star in the director’s twisted film. This sequence involves a major boss encounter.
Boss Fight: The Director’s Cut
The director, a crazed auteur who has taken his method acting way too far, will attack you from behind the camera—literally. He operates a massive, spider-like camera rig that serves as the mission’s main boss.
Phase 1: The director will use the rig’s powerful legs to try and crush you. Keep moving and use your dash ability to stay out from underfoot. The weak points are the red lights on the leg joints. A few well-aimed shots from your Revolver will disable a leg, causing the rig to stumble.
Phase 2: After taking some damage, the director will switch to ranged attacks. The camera’s lens will fire a powerful laser beam. Take cover behind pieces of the set to avoid it. Between blasts, pop out and fire at the main camera lens, which is now your primary target.
Phase 3: In the final phase, the director goes berserk. The rig moves faster, and he’ll launch a barrage of explosive film canisters. Use your Grappling Tail to swing from the lighting rigs above the set, staying off the ground and raining down fire on the exposed cockpit where the director sits. A few direct hits will bring the whole production crashing down.
Collectibles and Side Jobs
As this is a late-game chapter, the collectibles are well-hidden. While we are still compiling a definitive list, here is what we know:
- Schematics: There is rumored to be a Schematic for a new weapon hidden within the laboratory section of the set. Look for a breakable wall behind some test tubes.
- Comics & Newspapers: Check the dressing rooms and production offices you pass through before reaching the main set. These items are often left on desks or pinned to bulletin boards.
- Figurines: A secret Figurine is said to be hidden in the graveyard section. You may need to interact with a specific tombstone to reveal it.
Keep your eyes peeled and search every corner. The developers are known for hiding collectibles in the most unlikely of places, so leave no prop unturned!
