Welcome back to the grimy, glittering world of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. In this chapter, our favorite rodent detective is trading the back alleys for the grand stage. The mission, “Gumshoe in the Opera,” is a thrilling escapade filled with high society, higher stakes, and a whole lot of danger. I’ll guide you through every step, from the velvet seats to the secret passages, ensuring you don’t miss a single clue or collectible.

Main Objectives

Your main goals in this mission are:

  • Access the backstage area.
  • Locate the Stage Designer.
  • Prevent Stilton’s assassination.
  • Find a way out of the basement.
  • Defeat the boss: Prima Donna.
  • Escape the opera house.
  • Pin the Opera clues.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Infiltrating the Opera House

The mission kicks off with you outside the grand opera house. Your first task is to get backstage. The front doors are a no-go, so you’ll need to find a more creative entrance. Head around to the side of the building, and you’ll spot a fire escape. It’s a bit of a climb, but nothing a seasoned gumshoe like you can’t handle. Once you’re on the fire escape, look for an open window. That’s your ticket in.

Backstage Chaos

Once inside, you’ll find yourself in the chaotic world of backstage. Stagehands are rushing around, props are being moved, and the air is thick with the smell of greasepaint and desperation. Your goal is to find the Stage Designer. He’s the key to foiling the assassination plot. Navigate through the maze of ropes, pulleys, and half-built sets. Keep your eyes peeled for any clues that might lead you to the designer. You’ll find him in his office, a small, cluttered room filled with blueprints and sketches.

A Close Shave

After a tense conversation with the Stage Designer, you’ll learn that the assassination is imminent. You need to act fast. Rush to the main stage, where Stilton is about to give his speech. You’ll have to be quick and quiet to avoid alerting the would-be assassins. Use the catwalks above the stage to get a good vantage point. From there, you can identify the threat and neutralize it before it’s too late. A well-aimed shot from your trusty Revolver should do the trick.

The Basement and the Boss

With Stilton safe, you’ll find yourself trapped in the opera house’s sprawling basement. It’s a dark and dangerous place, filled with rats (the unfriendly kind) and other hazards. Your only way out is to find the exit, but it won’t be easy. The basement is a labyrinth of tunnels and storage rooms, and you’ll need to solve a few puzzles to progress.

At the heart of the basement, you’ll encounter the boss of this chapter: Prima Donna. She’s a formidable foe, with a powerful voice and a flair for the dramatic. The key to defeating her is to use the environment to your advantage. Look for opportunities to drop stage weights on her or use the faulty wiring to create a shocking surprise. Keep your distance, stay on the move, and she’ll eventually take her final bow.

The Great Escape

With Prima Donna defeated, the path to the exit is clear. But don’t relax just yet. The opera house is on high alert, and you’ll need to sneak your way out. Avoid the guards, stick to the shadows, and you’ll be back on the streets in no time. Once you’re out, it’s time to head back to your office, pin the clues you’ve gathered, and prepare for your next case.

Collectibles

This mission has a total of 10 collectibles to find:

  • Comics: 2
  • Newspapers: 3
  • Baseball Cards: 2
  • Schematics: 3

Keep your eyes peeled as you explore the opera house. Check every nook and cranny, from the dressing rooms to the storage closets. You never know where you might find a hidden treasure.

Boss Fight Tips: Prima Donna

  • Stay Mobile: Prima Donna’s attacks are powerful, but they’re also slow. Keep moving to avoid her devastating sonic screams.
  • Use the Environment: The stage is your playground. Look for interactive objects that you can use to your advantage.
  • Aim for the Weak Spot: Like any good boss, Prima Donna has a weak spot. Pay attention to her movements and attack patterns to identify it.
  • Patience is a Virtue: This fight is a marathon, not a sprint. Don’t get greedy with your attacks. Wait for your openings, and you’ll come out on top.

That’s all for this chapter, folks. Stay sharp, keep your wits about you, and I’ll see you on the next case. Good luck, detective!
