The The Depths keypad door has three valid codes: 2137, 1234, and 3125. Each one gives its own reward, so it is worth opening the door all three times before you move on.
Where the locked door is
You find the keypad door during Shrewd Shrews in The Depths, shortly after the elevator. The panel lets you set four digits with separate levers.
Each correct code opens the door again, so this is not a one-time puzzle.
All Shrewd Shrews door codes
| Code | Where the clue is | Reward |
|---|---|---|
2137 | Under the wooden platform below the keypad | 10 gold |
1234 | Inside the second-floor water pipe reached after grappling up | 10 gold |
3125 | On a note on the bottom shelf near the lost n’ found desk | 10 gold and an easter egg |
Code 2137
This is the easiest clue to pick up. Crouch under the small wooden platform directly beneath the keypad and check the tally marks scratched into the wood.
Code 1234
Grapple to the second-floor area, then crawl into the short water pipe. The graffiti inside includes the tally pattern for 1234.
Code 3125
Later in the same area, near the magnet and the drop-valve section, search the shelving by the lost n’ found desk. The note on the bottom shelf carries the third code.
After the final code, the room also reveals the odd hidden creature that several guides called out as an easter egg.
Best order to clear the puzzle
- Enter
2137as soon as you reach the door. - Grapple up, crawl into the pipe, and enter
1234. - Finish the nearby area search, grab the shelf note, and enter
3125.
That route clears the puzzle while you are already moving through the room instead of forcing a separate cleanup pass.
FAQ
How many correct codes are there?
Three.
What happens if I enter the wrong code?
Nothing permanent. The door stays closed and you can immediately try again.
Are the rewards worth it?
Yes. Three successful entries give you 30 total gold, and the last code also triggers the hidden easter egg moment behind the door.
