If you are stuck on the Clergy Row police station math puzzle in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, the shortest working answers are simple: for the first door, pull +7 four times and -2 once to hit 26; for the optional cell, pull +6 six times, +3 once, and -2 twice to hit 35.

Where the puzzle shows up

The lever room appears during A Bit of a Scene in the Clergy Row police station jail. You will see three levers, a button, and a display showing a target value through the window.

The first target is mandatory. The second target is optional, but it opens the extra cell with a safe inside.

Main police station lever puzzle: target 26

The first display reads 00/26.

The lever values are:

  • Lever 1: +7
  • Lever 2: -2
  • Lever 3: +3

The fastest route is:

  1. Pull +7 four times to reach 28.
  2. Pull -2 once to land on 26.
  3. Press the button to open the way forward.

Optional cell puzzle: target 35

The side cell uses a different set of values and rewards you with extra loot.

The lever values are:

  • Lever 1: +6
  • Lever 2: -2
  • Lever 3: +3

Use this sequence:

  1. Pull +6 six times to reach 36.
  2. Pull +3 once to reach 39.
  3. Pull -2 twice to land on 35.
  4. Press the button to open the optional cell.

The safe inside contains cash and a schematic, so it is worth clearing while you are already in the room.

No. Only the 26 door is required for mission progress. The 35 target is optional loot.

What do you get from the optional cell?

Launch-day guide coverage points to a safe with cash and a weapon schematic inside the opened cell.
